biography

Vita Lu (Vee-ta Loe) is a South African composer, songwriter, pianist, and cinematic storyteller from Pretoria, South Africa. Through music, visual art, and immersive creative worlds, she creates emotional experiences inspired by faith, healing, imagination, and hope.

Her passion for music began at the age of six when she started classical piano lessons. Over the years, her love for creativity expanded beyond piano to include guitar, flute, songwriting, visual storytelling, and artistic world-building. As a young teenager, she began writing her own songs, with one of her earliest unreleased works receiving a Silver Certificate at the Eisteddfod for Songwriting during her high school years.

Raised in a Christian home, Vita Lu has always believed that her creative gifts are blessings from God, and faith remains a central thread woven throughout her music and stories.

While balancing music alongside a professional career outside the entertainment industry, she created the virtual rock project “vital curv” — an artistic outlet that allowed her to bring her music to life through studio collaboration and storytelling. In 2012, together with session musicians, she recorded the self-titled debut EP at Beat in Time Studios in Pretoria under the guidance of renowned drummer and producer Bruce Wallace. The album was officially released in March 2013.

Over the years, Vita Lu continued to explore multiple musical styles, releasing both Afrikaans and instrumental works including “Voel Die Reën,” “Oproep na die Hemel,” “Noorder Kleure,” “Woeste Oseaan,” and “Herfs Blare.” Her musical journey blends emotional melodies with cinematic atmosphere, often crossing between contemporary Christian, pop, rock, and instrumental storytelling.

Her song “Versekerd” became especially meaningful to her, not only as her first Contemporary Christian release, but also because it featured one of the final recorded performances of the late Jason Bradley — a voice she describes as deeply heartfelt and unforgettable.

From 2023 to 2025, Vita Lu also hosted her own radio program, “Die Lewenspad van Musiek,” on Radio Overberg, where she shared music, stories, and conversations about the emotional journey behind songwriting and creativity.

Today, Vita Lu’s creative universe extends far beyond music alone. Through cinematic visual storytelling, digital and traditional art, fantasy-inspired world creation, and immersive creative projects, she continues to build emotional worlds that invite listeners and viewers into stories of redemption, beauty, struggle, and grace.
